Our Wickenburg Clean and Beautiful Program needs volunteers
AMBASSADORS Interact with the public during the day on weekends & holidays to share pipo message Travel in pairs ATVs recommended but not required Training provided by law enforcement
CLEANUPS Help with monthly Box Canyon and area cleanups Remove graffiti Recruit sponsors and volunteers for monthly cleanups
EDUCATION/OUTREACH Develop bilingual outreach materials and activities Identify ATV and youth groups and host education programs Participate in community outreach events PUBLICITY: Work with all committees on content Publish on social media and in traditional media platforms
Maintain the Sophie’s Flat trail system in partnership with Bureau of Land Management. Semi- annual trail work includes clearing brush overhang and repairing damaged trail sections.
Help with fuels reduction at a close-in 33 acre tract of land used for outdoor education.
Lead classes for students and adults. Popular topics include Desert Survival, Birding, Photography, Desert Plants and Animals, Astronomy, Geology, Scat and Tracks, Geocaching and Orienteering.
Help develop K-8 programs.
Assist with K-8 classes: Desert Awareness, Leave No Trace and Hug A Tree and Survive. Training provided.
Become a Wickenburg Clean and Beautiful ambassador to educate recreational enthusiasts on the importance of leave no trace principles.
Assist with publicity: traditional, web-based, and social media.
